You'll find a complete range of multistage pumps, equipment and solutions available from your local Irrigear® Independent Experts.
What is a multistage pump?
Multistage pumps are comprised of multiple impellers fitted together to form a single pump – meaning that fluid travels through all the impellers before being discharged. Multiple impellers create extra pressure, the more impellers, the more pressure. The sizing of the impellers determines the flow rate. So, having choices of impeller size as well as the number of impellers (stages) gives us options to achieve the right pressure and flow rate for the job at hand. There are vertical and horizontal multistage pumps, and most submersible bore pumps are a type of multistage pump.
What are the applications for a multistage pump?
There are lots of different uses for a multistage pump, mostly in a commercial, industrial or agricultural setting, and increasingly, in domestic water supply. Some of our customers have bought multistage pumps for spraying, high pressure cleaning, domestic/industrial water supply, firefighting, food and beverage manufacture, geothermal, HVAC, irrigation/agricultural, mining, drainage, dewatering, municipal water supply, water displays, fountains and water features. Multistage pumps can be powered by electric, solar and petrol/diesel motors. Multistage pumps are not recommended for abrasive materials.
