Location Overview

This install was at a rural property undergoing some updates. Good communication was required between the Rural Irrigation Supplies team, the owner, and builders, so the job could run as smoothly as possible.

Pre-Project Consultation Notes

Derek and the team noted that the water level in the pool was too high to allow for an appropriate plumbing setup to be installed. Beyond this, the main consideration was placement of the pool equipment in order to allow for construction of the customer’s new deck.

The Process

This job involved relocating the pool pump, filter and chlorinator to a new position to make way for a new deck by the pool.

As identified during the pre-project consultation, the standing water level in the suction and return pipes was too high to allow the existing pipework to be cut low enough to avoid creating an air lock. To overcome this, and to keep the new plumbing as low and neat as possible, Derek and the Rural Irrigation Supplies team lowered the pool water level by approximately 50 mm. This allowed them to cut into the existing pipework below the normal standing water level and achieve a cleaner, more reliable plumbing layout.

Once everything was appropriately mapped out, a new slab was laid, and the pool equipment was carefully relocated. Precision was required here to ensure that the equipment would not impose on the corner of the new deck, however it also needed to stay close enough to the pool to provide effective pumping and filtration.
