Backyard Rescue – Saving Wildlife And Water Pressure One Pump At A Time – PK Equipment – Member Case Study

The Goal: Josh Neille (The Wombat Guy) spends his time rescuing and rehabilitating native wildlife. Part of the rehabilitation process includes providing a safe and peaceful environment for the animals to recover within. In order to achieve this, Josh went on the hunt for a quieter pump that provided enhanced comfort and efficiency. His two key requirements were: Consistent water pressure that could meet the demands of his household and wildlife rehabilitation space A reduction in noise at the pump site in order to minimise disruption

The second being of utmost importance, given that Rocco - one of his rescued and rehabilitated wombats – is housed near where the pump needs to be situated.

Location Overview: Josh operates his sanctuary out of his home in the Gippsland region of Victoria. This means that any selected products must be able to meet the needs of both his household, and his life’s work. Given that the pump also provides water for the home, it is located quite close to the house as well as the spaces that Rocco and other animals reside within.

Pre-Project Consultation Notes:

Josh’s previous pump was quite noisy. This proved disruptive to both the animals living outdoors within the vicinity of the pump, as well as Josh and his family within the home.

Due to its age, it also struggled to perform when significant demand was placed upon it. This made it difficult to perform basic household tasks - such as running the washing machine - at the same time as animal care tasks - like filling their water - were being carried out.

The Process:

The process for this project was quite simple – a big win for Josh and his animals. Once his old pump was switched out and the Davey DynaDrive was installed, getting everything up and running was a quick and easy task.

The Outcome:

Now that he has the Davey DynaDrive pump installed, Josh has noticed improvements in water pressure, and Rocco is pleased about the noticeably better noise levels. Rocco can now sleep without a noisy pump waking him up, and Josh and Amber are able to easily manage their water related tasks without having to worry about a loss of efficiency or flow.

Everyone at Josh’s is quite pleased with the outcome, and are glad that they can depend on Davey.
