Franklin Electric SubDrive Connect

The SubDrive QuickPAK is Franklin Electric's most popular system solution package.

The SubDrive Connect provides consistent pressure regulation using advanced electronics to drive a standard motor and pump according to the pressure demands indicated by a highly accurate, heavy-duty, long-life pressure sensor or analog pressure transducer.

The Connect model range is designed for three-phase 230V 60Hz motors to provide constant pressure with three-phase performance using single-phase input power. It comes with built-in diagnostics and protection, including surge protection, short circuit, underload, overheat controller, undervoltage, broken-pipe detection, locked pump, user-configurable underload off-time, open circuit, and optional moisture/wet-floor sensor protection.

The controllers are also designed for full power operation in ambient temperatures up to 50°C (122°F) at nominal input voltage. In extreme thermal conditions, the controller will reduce output power in an attempt to avoid shutdown and potential damage while still trying to provide water. Full output power is restored when the internal controller temperature cools to a safe level.

In addition to regulating pump pressure and accurately controlling motor operation, the SubDrive Connect continuously monitors system performance and can detect a variety of abnormal conditions. In many cases, the controller will compensate as needed to maintain continuous system operation; however, if there is a high risk of equipment damage, the controller will protect the system and display the fault condition. When a fault is detected, the drive records the fault and the actual date and time when the fault was detected (up to 500) which can be viewed and emailed using the FE Connect mobile app.

Wi-Fi connectivity enables a connection to be made between the drive and a single mobile device (smartphone and tablet). This connection can be used for real-time monitoring of the system drive characteristics, adjust advanced settings, and view and email fault history and configuration changes.

• Reduced tank size — utilises a smaller tank to maintain constant pressure
• Reduced pump size — pumps with a power rating of half the motor power rating can be used when properly sized
• Power Factor Correction (PFC) — active PFC minimises input RMS current
• Ground Fault Detection — if there is a current leak to ground detected on the motor output, a warning will be provided
