Cost and complexity have often limited decoder technology to higher-end systems. However, with the revolutionary EZ Decoder System (EZDS), you get all the advantages of two-wire installations with simpler, more cost-effective technology — so you can bring the power of two-wire control to more projects than ever before.
EZDS is compatible with all the features of our Hydrawise™-enabled HCC controller, as well as the ICC2 controller and its web-based Centralus™ management platform. Plug in the EZ-DM two-wire output module to enable up to 54 stations of irrigation, plus a master valve, on a single pair of wires. Then simply place EZ Decoders at each valve!

EZ Decoders are small, waterproof, and come with color-coded wiring and a convenient LED status light. They do not require special wire or connectors to function. Better yet, the system can coexist with conventional output modules, allowing hybrid functionality of both direct-wired valves and decoder operations in the same controller. This technology also permits easy conversion of a conventionally wired system to two-wire using the existing wiring bundle. It’s that easy!
The Hunter EZ Decoder System (EZDS) consists of the Hunter EZ-DM Output Module and the Hunter EZ-1 Decoder:
- Two-wire decoder system for HCC and ICC2 controllers
- Up to 54-station capacity, plus master valve
- No special wire or connectors required
- Allows hybrid operations of conventional and decoder stations (54 total stations max per controller)
- Programmable decoders with no serial numbers
- Wire paths possible for over 3,000'
- No special grounding or surge arrestors required in-line
- EZ-1 single-station decoders have status LED for positive diagnostics
- P/MV can be activated by decoder or direct controller output

- Electrical output on two-wire path: 24VAC~, 50/60 Hz
- Up to two standard 24VAC solenoids per EZ-1 decoder output
- Simultaneous stations on: Two, plus master valve
- Wire paths to field: Two (each may be tee-spliced in different directions)
- Earth grounding: None required in-line (ground controller as usual)
- System is compatible with DUAL-S surge arrestors if desired
- EZ-1 Decoders are IP68, submersible
